This video is a few years old but I had actually never seen it before. This guy uses his remote controlled airplane to fly over Shea Stadium as it’s being torn down and Citi Field as it’s being built. Pretty Cool Stuff.

Yesterday I attended my 8th game this season at Citi Field. Unfortunately the Mets blew a lead late and the St. Louis Cardinals ended up winning the game 12-7. Before the game, I was able to make my way through the parking lot and finally get some photos of the markings of the old base path at Shea Stadium. Below are a couple pics I snapped of the bases and a few pieces of NY Mets artwork.

On another note, the Mets will launch their online registration for purchasing tickets for Opening Day at Citi Field on Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET on Mets.com and LosMets.com. Click here for more info.

I normally avoid opening day as it’s normally too cold and too crowded but I think I’m going to try and go this year. I went to the last game at Shea, so I guess it’s only right I go to the opening of CitiField Anyone else going?

Home Run Apple Is Back!

Below is video courtesy of SNY via MetsBlog.com of the new Homerun Apple being installed at CitiField.

Over the past year there has been a lot of debate amongst Mets fans as to whether or not the Homerun Apple should make the trip over to CitiField. There is even a Save The Apple Website for those who want to express their thoughts on keeping the Apple.

I for one am glad the Homerun Apple will be at CitiField. There isn’t much symbolism us Mets fans can take away from Shea Stadium to carry with us over CitiField and I think the Apple is something to hold onto. I have to admit, I am even more happy that the Mets have decided to install a brand new Homerun Apple. If the old Apple was installed, my opinion might be different…..
