Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 4th inning when Jose Reyes lead off the inning with a triple but the Mets failed to score him. In my opinion this set the tone for the entire game as Roy Halladay put the Mets bats to sleep.

Game Ball: Pat Misch: 6 IP | 8 H | 1 ER | 2 SO. Misch pitched well and deserved better from the Mets defense and offense.

Additional Comments:

Mets Offense: 6 H | 10 SO | 0-6 RISP.

Mets Defense: 3 errors which lead to 3 unearned runs.

Francisco Rodriguez made his return to the Mets after a 2 game suspension. You can watch the fans reaction to his return here.

Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 6th inning when the two guys in the middle of the Mets lineup that have been slumping teamed up for the Mets only run. Back to back doubles by David Wright and Carlos Beltran with 2 outs proved to be the difference.

Game Ball: R.A. Dickey: 9 IP | 1 H | 0 ER | 7 SO.

Additional Comments:

Beltran now has 4 hits in his last 7 at bats. Lets hope he’s starting to heat up.

Ruben Tejada is struggling. He is 0-14 at the plate in the month of August.

The Mets won back to back games for the first time since late June.

Mets are now 36-20 at home this season.

Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 3rd inning when the Phillies scored 5 runs, aided by a Jose Reyes error. The Phillies took a 6-2 lead at the time and held off a Mets late rally to win 6-5.

Game Ball: Angel Pagan: 2-4 | 2 RBI

Additional Comments:

R.A. Dickey: 3 IP | 8 H | 4 ER | 0 SO | 2 HR.

Mets Offense: Beltran/Wright combined: 0-8 | 6 SO. Entire team 4-14 RISP.

Carlos Beltran continues to struggle at the plate since coming back this season. He’s batting .195 | 7 RBI | 1 HR.

Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the top of the 7th inning when Jeff Francoeur hit a home run. The Mets went up 1-0 at the time and that’s how it ended.

Game Ball: Johan Santana: 7.1 IP | 5 H | 6 SO. Santana carried a no hitter into the bottom of the 6th inning before giving up a hit.

Additional Comments:

Francisco Rodriguez came in the game in the bottom of the 8th inning and picked up his 24th save after recording the final 5 outs.

Mets are now back to a .500 record on the season.

Mets are now 22-36 on the road this season.

Before the game the Mets announced that they called up Ruben Tejada and Fernando Martinez. To make room, Jesus Feliciano was sent down to the minors and Alex Cora was released.

The Mets are back over .500 (24-23)

Mets Pitching: Mets pitchers have thrown 18 scoreless innings against the Phillies in this series.

According to the SNY broadcast this is the first time the Mets have shut out the Phillies in back-to-back games since July 1998.

Before yesterday’s game I tweeted the following message below and the Mets did exactly what I was hoping they would do. After playing 6 innings they were up 5-0. What was good to see is they didn’t take their foot off the pedal. In their last two at bats the Mets had 4 hits and scored 3 more times, including a Raul Valdes double and Jose Reyes triple on their way to an 8-0 win. In my opinion, the Mets must make a statement in this series and push the Phillies around a little. Let’s see how they do over the next two games. Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 6th inning when Chris Carter came through with a pinch hit RBI single. At that point the Mets went up 5-0 and pretty much put the game out of reach.

Game Ball: Jose Reyes: 3-5 | 3 Runs | 2 SB | 1 RBI. Reyes also collected his 1,000 career hit tonight.

Additional Comments:

The Mets are back to .500 (23-23)

No strike outs for the Mets offense. Very impressive for a team that strikes out a lot.

Jeff Francoeur: 2-3 | 2 RBI | 1 Run

Pitcher Raul Valdes not only pitched well in relief (3 IP | 0 ER), he also had an RBI double.
