Below are the results. Brandon Webb and Chris Young tied at 37.5%. Even though I voted for Chris Young, I was surprised to see that Brandon Webb did not get the overwhelming amount of votes I thought he’d get since he’s a former Cy Young award winning and the most recognizable name on the list. Metsblog reported yesterday that Webb has signed with the Rangers, so looks like he’s off the market at this point anyway.

Below are the results. 42.31% of those who voted graded the Mets as a B for the selections of the new coaching staff. I’ve said in the past that I feel coaches get too much blame when things are going bad and too much credit when things are going good. With that said I am interested to see what new hitting coach Dave Hudgens can do. Especially since the offense was probably the most disappointing aspect of the Mets team last season.

Friend: This hitting coach stinks. I trust Mookie at 1b, the rest of these cats stink.
Me: You don’t even know these cats do you? You like Mookie cause he’s from the 1986 team.
Friend: Exactly.
Me: LMAO.

Besides posting this so that everyone can get a chuckle, I just want to say let’s start being reasonable folks. I have no problem critisizing or disagreeing with the Mets or any player on the team but let’s have some justification for doing so or a better argument than “I like him because he was on the 1986 team”.
