The Mets have already had a couple test runs at CitiField, including the St. John/GTown College game and two games against the RedSox.

With that said, I’m interested to see who will have the first ever regular season hit at CitiField. I have a hunch it’s going to be Daniel Murphy. Who do you think it will be?

On another note, the Mets will launch their online registration for purchasing tickets for Opening Day at Citi Field on Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET on Mets.com and LosMets.com. Click here for more info.

I normally avoid opening day as it’s normally too cold and too crowded but I think I’m going to try and go this year. I went to the last game at Shea, so I guess it’s only right I go to the opening of CitiField :) Anyone else going?

Over the past year there has been a lot of debate amongst Mets fans as to whether or not the Homerun Apple should make the trip over to CitiField. There is even a Save The Apple Website for those who want to express their thoughts on keeping the Apple.

I for one am glad the Homerun Apple will be at CitiField. There isn’t much symbolism us Mets fans can take away from Shea Stadium to carry with us over CitiField and I think the Apple is something to hold onto. I have to admit, I am even more happy that the Mets have decided to install a brand new Homerun Apple. If the old Apple was installed, my opinion might be different…..
