The last few years have been miserable - not only because the Philsm Pats and Giants are winning, but how they win - they constantly embarass and humiliate us - from the 2006 Mets collapse, to the Knicks trading away the entire team for one ball-hogging player, to the Jets revitalizing the Giants' season with all their trash talking.

It's not that the enemies win, it's that the enemies constantly son us.

[...] It’s not all the time I find something worth viewing from fellow bloggers, but when I do I love to share it with other friends of mine who love baseball. Kerel Cooper of OnTheBlack.com just put up his Mets Viewer Comments video for 10/22 and shared some pretty cool thoughts about R.A. Dickey, Tejada and Murphy platooning at second base and how stupid some Yankees fans are. Check out the vid and make sure you comment on his blog! [...]

Fonzi is a definite. I'd also love to see Rico Brogna, Brett Butler or John Olerud.

Thanks for the comments. I bring up Zeile because I think he was a fan favorite. Do you have anyone else in mind you'd like to see come back?

I agree that Fonzi should be involved. He was a leader on the field and definitely is a good representative of that time period. Orosco would be another great show. I don't know that I would associate Zeile with being return-worthy, but I would turn him down. I think I remember Fonzi once during a game when a fan wins a contest and wins an autographed ball and it was his autograph and he actually came out to present it. Don't recall seeing Orosco and/or Zeile ever, though. But, alas... I'm not at every game. :(

Mets wouldn't need the Yankees to pay for Burnett. The remaining money for Bay and Burnett is pretty much even. So neither team would have much more of a financial burden than they do now.

The trade makes sense. As long as you have starting pitching, you have a shot. But the Yankees need him this season, aside from the recent Pineda deal, they made very little free agent moves this offseason. They just don't want to foot the bill for Burnett. That's their fault, Cashman gave him that deal. No way the Mets could afford him given their ongoing finances. http://www.fromthisseat.com.
