Q & A: 2011 Expectations of Jason Bay
December 16, 2010I’ve said in the past that I think it is very important for Jason Bay to have a bounce back year in 2011. In my opinion, there is no player on the Mets who needs to have a good year as much as Bay needs one. According to Cot’s Baseball Contracts Bay has the following remaining on his deal with the Mets: 11:$16M, 12:$16M, 13:$16M, 14:$17M club option ($3M buyout). In the video below I talk about what I expect to see from Jason Bay in terms of production for the 2011 season.

Thanks and same to you John. I don't know if we can expect Bay to hit 36 homeruns playing half his games in Citi Field. Would love it if he did but I think mid 20's for homeruns with a higher avg is more realistic.

Kerel — I agree that Bay must improve in 2011. If Bay could repeat 2009 output w/Boston (.267/36/119), imagine what that will do for Beltran, Wright and Davis at 3-5-6 respectively. There is a trickle down — or up — effect that each of these guys can have on each other.
Excellent post … Merry Christmas — John
