Ronny Paulino Hitting Mechanics
December 9, 2010The Mets it official today by announcing the signings of Ronny Paulino and D.J. Carrasco. Check out the slow motion video below of Paulino’s hitting mechanics.
Also, check out the chart below the video courtesy of FanGraphs which shows just how much better Paulino is against lefties vs. righties at the plate. Earlier today it was reported that Paulino is not looking to back up Josh Thole. I love hearing this. I think competition is good and I don’t want players on the Mets that will settle with just backing up. I hope Paulino pushes Thole which in turn I hope makes Thole better in the long run.

Goodness. That is bad. If Paulino's numbers hold true that would be great.

Paulino is a great addition if only because he can mash LHP so well. Mets' catchers hit .159/.197/.235 vs LHP last year, which ranked 2nd to last in the Majors. Yikes.
