Extending The 7 Train To New Jersey

About two weeks ago it was reported that New York City is discussing the idea of extending the 7 train to New Jersey. As someone who lives in Central New Jersey I would welcome this idea as this could potentially lead to an easier commute to Citi Field for me to watch the Mets.
