if you can trade them for good prospects to help the minor leauge system by all means the mets should do so

I would not trade Reyes unless it includes major league talent (multiple guys) that can help this team now. I would not trade him for prospects.

if they trade jose and fernando make the team better do it

With F-Mart being so injury prone, not sure how the Mets can get anything for him.

Trading Jose Reyes is the height of stupidity. Rarely, and I mean RARELY do you trade your top player for prospects and get better. Fans are SO stupid at times. Lets try that theory out for a second. Let's say the Mets TRADED Carlos Delgado after the 2008 season. Look how poorly the Mets performed once he went down. Lets say the Mets decided to "change the cultiure" of the team after 2008. They traded Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado for a host of top flight prospects. See how that team performed in 2009. That's what you get with prospects. If the Mets jettison Reyes and Beltran for prospects, this team will be in the toilet for half a decade.

I would not trade Reyes for prospects. It would have to be for MLB players and multiple players that can make this team better now. So are you totally against trading Reyes at all or would you be ok with trading him in the right deal?

What Jimmy? I've read your comment 3 times and still don't get it. These are all "IF's" anyway. 08 and all that doesn't matter anymore, Now, is what this is about, and yes, you can get value out of Vets. Jose needs to grow up, if not his leash is short, and F-Mart doesn't pass the eyeball test, sorry. That theory of yours would make sense under Omar's administration, but times are a changing, get with it, Time is of the essence.

I'm very frustrated with F-Mart. If he didn't have all these injuries I would think he would have developed into a player that should be competing for a spot on the 2011 roster.

On a positive note, the Mets could easily drop F-Mart from the 40man roster, and not worry. I really don't see much of a chance of losing him in the rule 5 draft.
