Mets Game Recap: Mets 7 Phillies 3

Posted on by Kerel Cooper

First, let me say that I spent the day at the New Meadowlands Stadium watching the Titans upset the Giants. So my recap below is based on what I know by following the game on my iPhone and from the box score.

Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 7 – Phillies 3
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 76-79
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the top of the 9th inning when Carlos Beltran hit a two-run home run. That gave the Mets a 7-3 lead and put the game pretty much out of reach for the Phillies.
  • Game Ball: Carlos Beltran: 3-5 | 3 RBI | 2 HR.
  • Additional Comments:
  • Pat Misch: 4.2 IP | 7 H | 3 ER | 3 SO.
  • Mets won 2-3 against the Phillies this weekend and avoid watching them celebrate the NL East title in person.
  • Mets are now 32-49 on the road this season.
  • Up Next: The New York Mets return home to host the Milwaukee Brewers: Monday September 27, 2010 at 7:10 pm.

Looks like Beltran may be getting his legs under him…last ten games, 15-for-40 (.375) w/2B, 3B, 4 HRs, 7 RBIs, 7 runs scored…when he hit that 2-run HR in the top of the ninth inning, there was only a handful of white towels swirling in the stands, haha
