Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 5 – Astros 1
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 65-65
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 2nd inning when the Mets took a 4-0 lead aided by an R.A. Dickey 2-run scoring single. Dickey gave himself the lead and then proceeded to shut down the Astros offense.
  • Game Ball: R.A. Dickey: 7 IP | 6 H | 1 ER | 2 SO. At the plate: 2-3 | 2 RBI.
  • Additional Comments:
  • Josh Thole had a good game at the plate: 2-3 | 1 RBI | 1 HR.
  • Mets are now 39-25 at home this season.
  • Up Next: The New York Mets head to Atlanta to open a series with the Braves: Monday August 30, 2010 at 7:10 pm.

How about a little positive perspective: Last year, at 130 games, the Mets were 58-72. And, would not win their 65th game until September 20th, game 150 (65-85)
