Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 1 – Rockies 0
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 56-56
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 7th inning when Josh Thole doubled to right field. This set up the Mets with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. They eventually scored the only run of the game on a Jose Reyes sacrifice fly.
  • Game Ball: Mike Pelfrey: 7 IP | 4 H | 0 ER | 4 SO.
  • Additional Comments:
  • Mets Offense: Only managed 4 hits tonight but they were patient at the plate against Ubaldo Jimenez, working out a total of 5 walks in the game.
  • Today was Mike Pelfrey’s first win since June 25th.
  • Francisco Rodriguez picked up his 25th save of the season.
  • Mets are now 34-19 at home this season.
  • Up Next: The New York Mets play the second game of the series against the Colorado Rockies: Wednesday August 11, 2010 at 7:10 pm.
