Mets Game Recap: Mets 7 Cardinals 8
Posted on July 28, 2010 by Kerel Cooper
First let me say that I was at tonight’s game along with a bunch of my fellow Mets bloggers. I’ll have more on this tomorrow but I left the game at the end of the 7th inning to begin my long trek back home in New Jersey. I got home just in time to see Albert Pujols single in the game winning run in the 13th inning.
Quick Game Notes:
Final Score: Mets 7 – Cardinals 8
Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
Mets Record: 51-50
Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the top the the 13th inning when Albert Pujols singled in the game winning run. The Mets battled back from a 6 run deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th but the Cardinals eventually were able to pull out the win.
Game Ball: Angel Pagan: 2-5 | 2 RBI | 2 Run | 1 HR | 1 BB
Additional Comments:
Johan Santana: 5.2 IP | 13 H | 7 ER | 2 SO. Santana let up 6 runs in the 1st inning. This is the most runs he’s ever let up in his career in the first inning.
Carlos Beltran hit his first home run of the season: 2-5 | 1 RBI | 1 HR | 1 BB
Mets are now 31-17 at home this season.
Pedro Feliciano struggled tonight: 1.2 IP | 1 H | 1 ER | 2 BB
The Mets showed a lot of heart tonight fighting back after being down 6 runs but eventually fell short.
