Mets Record: 50-47
Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the top of the 8th inning. The Mets had the bases loaded and Jason Bay hit a bases clearing double. That put the Mets up 6-1 at the time and put the game out of reach.
Game Ball: Jason Bay: 2-4 | 3 RBI and an outstanding defensive catch early on in the game.
Additional Comments:
Johan Santana: 7 IP | 5 H | 1 ER | 4 SO.
Mets snapped their four game losing streak.
Mets are now 20-31 on the road this season.
Mets Manager, Jerry Manuel was ejected in the 2nd inning after arguing a questionable call where Luis Castillo was called out on a grounder to shortstop.
Kudos to the Mets outfield of Carlos Beltran, Jason Bay and Angel Pagan. All three made some outstanding defensive plays.
Francisco Rodriguez came in to the 9th and pitched a rare 1-2-3 inning.
Up Next: The New York Mets play the third game of the series in LA against the Dodgers: Saturday July 24, 2010 at 4:10 pm.
