Quick Game Notes:
Final Score: Mets 4 – Giants 3
Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
Mets Record: 49-43
Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the top of the 10th inning when Ike Davis hit a RBI double to put the Mets ahead 4-3. That’s how it ended.
Game Ball: Ike Davis: 3-5 | 2 RBI
Additional Comments:
Johan Santana: 8 IP | 8 H | 1 ER | 5 SO. Before the game I tweeted that Santana may need to go: 8 IP | 1 ER for the Mets to win today. He did just that but I didn’t account for K-Rod blowing it in the 9th.
Francisco Rodriguez blew his 5th save of the season by allowing two runs on the 9th.
Mets Offense: 10 H | 2-6 RISP
Mets are now 19-27 on the road this season.
David Wright moved into fourth place on the Mets all-time home run list be hitting his 155 career home run today.
Up Next: The New York Mets travel to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks: Monday July 19, 2010 at 9:40 pm.
I still think Wlipon should fly in tomorrow morning and meet with the staff before the game. It worked on May 17th in Atlanta.
