Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 6 – Reds 8
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 46-37
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the top of the 5th when the Reds scored 6 runs, aided by some questionable umpiring. The Mets did an excellent job trying to catch up and never quitting but they ended up falling short.
  • Game Ball: Alex Cora: 2-3 | 2 RBI
  • Additional Comments:
  • Mike Pelfrey: 4.2 IP | 9 H | 7 ER | 1 SO.
  • David Wright has now hit safely in 8 out of the last 9 games: 2-4.
  • Jose Reyes sat out his sixth game in a row with a stiff back.
  • Mets are now 28-13 at home this season.
  • Before the game it was announced that the Mets placed Fernando Tatis on the 15-Day Disabled List, with a right shoulder AC joint sprain and recalled lefthanded pitcher Raul Valdes.
  • Up Next: The Mets play the second game of this series against the Cincinnati Reds: Tuesday July 6, 2010 at 7:10 pm.
