The Stephen Strasburg Impact On Ticket Sales
July 1, 2010As we all anxiously await Stephen Strasburg’s start against the Mets on Saturday, I thought it would be interesting to reach out to my buddies over at SeatGeek to get an idea of the impact on ticket prices for Nationals games since Strasburg was called up. Take a look at the chart below (click to expand). As you can see (and as I expected) prices for Strasburg starts are some of the highest you’ll find for Nationals games.
Max over at SeatGeek also says that “80% of the secondary market tickets bought for Strasburg’s start this Saturday were bought since Strasburg’s debut on June 8th.” I assume that means a good number of Mets fans will be making their way down to Washington this weekend for the game.
