Josh Johnson: How good has he been during the month of June – 38 IP | 38 SO | 1.18 ERA
Speaking of pitching, Edwin Jackson no hit the Tampa Bay Rays last week. Even though he threw 149 pitches and walked 8 batters, a no hitter is still a tremendous accomplishment.
The Baseball Bloggers Alliance (which I am a member of) announce it’s 2010 MLB All-Star Picks.
Streaks and Standings:
Wins: Baltimore Orioles have won 4 games in a row but are still in last place in the AL East. I guess it helps to have a weekend series against the Nationals.
Loss: Pittsburgh Pirates have lost 6 in a row and sit in last place in the NL Central.
I’m looking forward to the Detroit Tigers vs Minnesota Twins (June 28-30, 2010). These are the top two teams in the AL Central and last season it came down to a play-in game to determine the division winner. It should be a fun series.
