The biggest story of the week was the nearly perfect game by Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga. Considering the circumstances umpire Jim Joyce made one of the worst calls every. Kudos to both Galarraga and Joyce for the way they handled the situation.
The second biggest story of the week had to be the retirement of Ken Griffey Jr. In my opinion Griffey Jr. was the greatest player of his era. Despite all the injuries he still had a Hall of Fame career. It’s scary to think what his career numbers would be if he was healthy the entire time.
I’m looking forward to the Philadelphia Phillies vs. Boston Red Sox (June 11-June 13, 2010). As the Mets continue to chance the Phillies (and Braves), I’m hoping the Red Sox can help us out a little and beat up on the Phillies.
