Mets Roster Moves: June 4, 2010

Posted on by Kerel Cooper

In case you have not seen it yet, today the Mets announced a series of roster moves.

  • Luis Castillo (2b) – placed on 15 day DL. I think we all saw this coming. He’s been ailing for a few weeks now.
  • Gary Matthews Jr (CF) – designated for assignment. I first saw this one over at Metsblog. I’m glad to see this move made but a bit surprised because I don’t know who the center field back-up is at this time.
  • Ruben Tejada (2b)  & Omir Santos  (C) – both have been called up. I like the Tejada move but not sure I understand why the Mets would carry three catchers. I would have liked to see them call up Jesus Feliciano instead but let’s see how this shakes out.

Jerry said that Bay can play CF if need be.

So why didn't Jerry get rid of Jr a long time ago.

But Jerry is such a nice man, so lets keep him managing the club.
