Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 5 – Phillies 0
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 24-23
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 6th inning when the Mets scored 3 runs to go up 5-0 at the time. The key at bat in the inning was a Rod Barajas 2-run double. After that the game was pretty much out of reach.
  • Game Ball: Jose Reyes: 2-4 | 1 HR | 1 Run | 2 RBI
  • Additional Comments:
  • The Mets are back over .500 (24-23)
  • Mets offense: 4 stolen bases and 3 doubles tonight.
  • Angel Pagan continues to play well. Two more hits tonight and now has a 5 game hitting streak.
  • Mets Pitching: Mets pitchers have thrown 18 scoreless innings against the Phillies in this series.
  • According to the SNY broadcast this is the first time the Mets have shut out the Phillies in back-to-back games since July 1998.
  • Hisanori Takahashi’s Line: 6 IP | 5 H | 0 ER | 6 SO | 0 BB
  • As I said before this series started, I was looking for the Mets to make a statement and so far in the first two games they have done that.
  • Up Next: The Mets play the third game of this series and go for the sweep against the Phillies: Thursday May 27, 2010 at 7:10pm.
