Mets Game Recap: Mets 8 Phillies 0

Quick Game Notes:
Final Score: Mets 8 – Phillies 0
Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
Mets Record: 23-23
Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 6th inning when Chris Carter came through with a pinch hit RBI single. At that point the Mets went up 5-0 and pretty much put the game out of reach.
Game Ball: Jose Reyes: 3-5 | 3 Runs | 2 SB | 1 RBI. Reyes also collected his 1,000 career hit tonight.
Additional Comments:
The Mets are back to .500 (23-23)
No strike outs for the Mets offense. Very impressive for a team that strikes out a lot.
Jeff Francoeur: 2-3 | 2 RBI | 1 Run
Pitcher Raul Valdes not only pitched well in relief (3 IP | 0 ER), he also had an RBI double.
R.A. Dickey’s Line: 6 IP | 7 H | 0 ER | 7 SO | 3 BB
The Mets played a very efficient, fundamentally sound game tonight. Good to see.
Up Next: The Mets play the second game against the Phillies: Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 7:10pm.
