Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 8 – Phillies 0
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 23-23
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 6th inning when Chris Carter came through with a pinch hit RBI single. At that point the Mets went up 5-0 and pretty much put the game out of reach.
  • Game Ball: Jose Reyes: 3-5 | 3 Runs | 2 SB | 1 RBI. Reyes also collected his 1,000 career hit tonight.
  • Additional Comments:
  • The Mets are back to .500 (23-23)
  • No strike outs for the Mets offense. Very impressive for a team that strikes out a lot.
  • Jeff Francoeur: 2-3 | 2 RBI | 1 Run
  • Pitcher Raul Valdes not only pitched well in relief (3 IP | 0 ER), he also had an RBI double.
  • R.A. Dickey’s Line: 6 IP | 7 H | 0 ER | 7 SO | 3 BB
  • The Mets played a very efficient, fundamentally sound game tonight. Good to see.
  • Up Next: The Mets play the second game against the Phillies: Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 7:10pm.
