Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 2 – Braves 3
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 19-21
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 9th. Runners on 1st & 2nd with no outs. Slow grounder to David Wright and he makes a throwing error to first base which allows the game winning run to score.
  • Game Ball: Ike Davis: 1-3 | 1 RBI | 1 BB | 1 Run
  • Additional Comments:
  • Mets Offense: Only 5 hits tonight.
  • Mets are 4-1 against the Braves this season.
  • Johan Santana has not won a game since April 27, 2010
  • Rod Barajas sat out tonight’s game with a stomach virus.
  • David Wright: I really think he needs a day off. Not only did he have the throwing error which cost the Mets the game, at the plate Wright was 0-4 | 3 SO.
  • Jose Reyes continues to struggle: 0-4 | 1 SO.
  • Johan Santana’s Line: 7 IP | 2 ER | 2 BB | 4 SO
  • Up Next: The Mets move on to Washington to open a two game series against the Nationals: Wednesday May 19, 2010 at 7:05pm.

    2. I had heard that Jerry Manuel had suggested to David Wright to use a different glove than he is used to. And that he was wearing that "over sized" glove last night. If it is true David might have had trouble getting the ball out of his mit.
