  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 7th when Chris Coghlan hit a 3-run home run off Fernando Nieve. The Mets had battled back from 7 runs down to get the score to 7-6 at the time but the Coghlan home run put the game out of reach.
  • Game Ball: Alex Cora: 2-5 I 2 RBI | 1 Run
  • Additional Comments:
  • The Mets were swept in this four game series. They have now lost 5 in a row, 7 out of 8 and are now two games below .500 on the season.
  • Gary Matthews Jr. had his best game of the season: 2-2 | 1 RBI
  • Jason Bay extended his hitting streak to 10 games.
  • Jon Niese’s line: 2 IP | 1 ER | 4 Hits | 1 SO | 1 BB. Niese left the game early with an apparent leg injury.

      the Mets have dropped to last place and the NY papers are going to be screaming for Jerry Manuel's head on a platter this morning. It is going to be a ruff few days here in NY for the Mets.
