Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 8 – Nationals 6
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 18-15
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the bottom of the 8th inning. The Mets looked a little flat for most of the game but busted out with 6 runs to take the lead and go on to win the game.
  • Game Ball: Rod Barajas: 2-4 | 2 RBI | 1 Run
  • Additional Comments:
  • The Mets snapped their two game losing streak.
  • Chris Carter came through with a go ahead RBI double in his first at-bat as a Met. Welcome to the team Carter.
  • Six times the Mets got the lead off runner on base tonight before busting out in the 8th inning for 6 runs.
  • Season highs for the Mets offense: 16 total hits | 6 runs in one inning (8th)
  • David Wright had three hits tonight. Two of them to the opposite field which was good to see. Lets hope it continues.
  • Ike Davis continues to thrill us. He made another catch over the dugout railing. The third time he’s done that this season.
  • Jon Niese’s line: 4.1 IP | 6 ER | 6 Hits | 3 SO | 5 BB
  • Up Next: The Mets play the rubber game series against the Washington Nationals: Wednesday May 12, 2010 at 1:10pm.
