Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 2 – Nationals 3
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 17-15
  • Key Moment In The Game: In my opinion the key moment was the top of the 8th inning when the Nationals added a run on an Ivan Rodriguez single to go up by two. They never looked back. The Mets fought back in the 9th with an Angel Pagan homerun but that was as close as they got.
  • Game Ball: Angel Pagan: 2-5 | 1 RBI | 1 Run
  • Additional Comments:
  • Dispite having 12 hits tonight, the Mets left a small village on the bases, plus 11 strike outs.
  • Last night it was David Wright, tonight Jose Reyes was ejected for arguing strikes.
  • John Maine’s line: 6 IP | 2 ER | 7 Hits | 5 SO | 4 BB
  • Mets catcher Josh Thole was called up before the game as Henry Blanco was put on the Bereavement List.
  • According to SNY, after the game the Mets called up Chris Carter and DFA’d Frank Catalanotto.
  • Up Next: The Mets play the second game series against the Washington Nationals: Tuesday May 11, 2010 at 7:10pm.
