Quick Game Notes:

  • Final Score: Mets 5 – Braves 2
  • Box Score: Click here for the complete box score.
  • Mets Record: 8-9
  • Key Moment In The Game: I did not see most of the game as I was out and about but from what I know, in my opinion the key moment was in the bottom of the 7th when the Mets scored two runs to go up 5-2 at the time. It was a weird inning as Chipper Jones dropped a pop-up and it seemed as though the Braves were confused and didn’t understand the infield fly rule.
  • Game Ball: Jose Reyes: 2 -4 | 1 Run in his first time batting 3rd in the Mets lineup.
  • Additional Comments:
  • I missed it, but Ike Davis hit his first MLB home run and from what I hear it was a blast.
  • Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez (K-Rod) got his second save of the season. He now has overtaken Mile Pelfrey for the team lead in save.
  • Jason Bay and David Wright combined for 3 RBI’s tonight. It’s good to see the middle of the lineup producing.
  • John Maine started the game but left in the 4th inning with an injury. Hisanori Takahashi came in and pitched great: 3 IP | 1 ER | 7 SO
  • Up Next: The Mets play the second game of the series against the Atlanta Braves: Saturday April 24, 2010 at 1:10 pm.
