March 8, 2010This is the first blog post in the “Mets Blogger Roundtable Series“. In the video below Dave Doyle of Mets Report and Joe Janish of Mets Today grade the Mets off season. Thanks to Dave and Joe for helping me put this together. Also, special thanks to McFaddens NYC for allowing us to film at their location. I’m looking forward to visiting their Citi Field location over the summer.

Good point on Castillo/2b. We don't really know the impact of the Madoff situation but that may be hindering the Mets "ability to suck it up, take a loss, and move on."

I agree with your comments, but why no mention of Second Base ?? I’m not one to suggest that the Mets occupy the same financial strata as the Yankees, but when the Yankees make mistakes with contracts they have the ability to suck it up, take a loss, and move on. Why can’t the Mets do this with Castillo? Second base needed to be upgraded because with Luis in the lineup, it creates all sorts of issues with where to put Reyes and Murphy. If Castillo is gone (or as a high priced, and very good, pinch hitter on the bench) then they could go: 1) Reyes
2) Murphy 3) Wright 4) Bay 5) Franceour —- and then slot in Pagan, Barajas, and a Second Baseman with pop in the 6 -8 slots. Just an idea.
