Cerrone Interviews Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

In the video below, Matt Cerrone of Metsblog interviews Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry. They discuss role models, their time with the Mets and being inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame. Gooden and Strawberry are probably my two favorite Mets of all-time so it’s good to see them back in Blue and Orange.

Help The Haiti Earthquake Victims

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

As we all know by now, Haiti has been devastated by an earthquake.  MLB has teamed up with Unicef to help the people of Haiti. You can watch a video of David Wright urging people to get involved. To donate to Unicef please click here.

On the same note here are a few links to some of my friends that have gotten involved in some fashion:

- NJ for Haiti: A couple friends are running this organization and are doing all they can by holding prayer vigils, accepting donations and dispersing information. Check them out here: Website or Twitter or Facebook

- Mets Today: Joe links to a number of different charities that you can donate to. I have not seen many bloggers talk about this tragedy on their site so Kudos to Joe. He actually inspired me to do this post.

- A buddy I went to college with, Erik Parker was actually in Haiti when the earthquake hit. Below is some amazing video he took. You can also ready about his experience here.

Poll: How To Handle Center Field

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Let me know your thoughts on how the Mets should handle Center Field while Carlos Beltran is out.

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Happy Friday. Here are a few links to get your day going.

-Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last few days, you know that Carlos Beltran had surgery on his knee and the Mets are not happy about it. Beltran recently responded to the Mets. Check out Metsblog to see Beltran’s comments. My thoughts: It’s really unbelievable how many issues fill the Mets organization from top to bottom. No reality TV show can compete with the drama that is the New York Mets. I wonder if this would have happened a few weeks earlier if Jason Bay would have still signed with this team…

-WFAN had a number of Mets visit their radio station this week. One of the more entertaining interviews was Mike Pelfrey on the Boomer and Carton Show.

-In the video below courtesy of NJ.com David Wright discusses the upcoming 2010 season. This interview was done a few days before the the Beltran mess came out so it’s kind of funny to hear Wright say “we have to find a way to stay healthy…”
