I'd love to see Cabrera in a Mets unifrom, but will Omar take a player that has Cabreraesq baggage. He would make this lineup scary. Delgado was injured all last season and I personally do not want to see him return to Queens. We have seen enough injuries in our past and have failed at signing players with this history. Delgado is old and may have another season or two left in him, but the Mets should not hope or go in that direction.

I've changed my mind on Delgado. I think the Mets should consider bringing him back for 2010. They need some power from the left side of the plate and he can extend the lineup and make it deeper. Also, even though his numbers will be on the decline, he's still better then Murphy.

  3. Delgado on a cheap, incentive deal would be alright. If hes so bad that he needs to be cut (or if he gets hurt) the Mets have other options – Murphy/Evans platoon or Ike Davis.

Murphy + Garko really is not too much better than Murphy + Evans — both Garko/Evans can crush LHP, its Garko who can hold his own vs RHP while Evans has really struggled to do so.
