Wednesday, January 27th, 2010I’m Getting Excited About Opening Day
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010I know we still have over two months to go before opening day and to-date the Mets have not made many moves to get us enthusiastic about the season but I can’t help but get excited when I see Johan Santana throw his first pitches of the year. Below is video courtesy of Metsblog of Johan Santana throwing 25 pitches and discussing how he feels.

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010Where To Find Me
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010I recently made a change to my OnTheBlack.com Twitter account (I revised the user name from @kerelcoop to @ontheblack). So this is just a quick reminder of where you can find me:
-Twitter: Follow Me here - @ontheblack. This is where I tweet 24/7 about the New York Mets.
-Tumblr: This is my Tumblr version of OnTheBlack.com. I just started this page a few days ago so there isn’t much content there now. Moving forward this Tumblr account will pull in all content from OnTheBlack.com plus a few other goodies here and there.
-YouTube: On my YouTube channel you will find all my video blogs that are posted on OnTheBlack.com
-Facebook: You can always friend me up on Facebook as well.
Links: Gary Matthews Jr, Daniel Murphy and David Wright
Monday, January 25th, 2010Just wanted to give you guys a few links of some Mets stories I read over the weekend:
-At Metsblog Michael Baron writes about how Gary Matthews Jr was a good teammate in LA. This is good to hear because the last thing the Mets need right now is trouble in the clubhouse.
-Wendy Adair of the Bleacher Report wonders if 2010 is the year for Daniel Murphy To Shine or Fade. I’ve said in the past, if the Mets don’t bring back Carlos Delgado they better have a back-up plan that does not include Murphy playing every day. Murphy playing every day for a team that claims they want to win is unacceptable.
-Over at The Ropolitans, Andrew’s readers have spoken. They have voted David Wright as 2009 Met of the Year. If you recall, when the season ended I picked Luis Castillo as my choice for 2009 Mets MVP.
