You raise a good point in the Mets have a lot of holes to fill and probably can't fill them all. Are they going to be able to trade guys for someone like Adrian Gonzalez AND get a big time LF like Bay or Holliday? Not to mention two catchers, another starting pitcher and a contingency plan for Francoeur if/when he reverts to anything that's not the last two months. probably not. Murphy will progress, and he'll grow more with an intact lineup and a better manager. Murphy + Holliday is probably better than what they can get for 1B + Pagan. We were fine in the past with the power we had, so it's on replacing Delgado, which a LF can do. The team is built to be aggressive with stolen bases and taking extra bases. They'll hopefully have a healthy and well-coached pitching staff to keep them from having to try to win games 10-8.
