In the video above, Mets executive Dave Howard confronts Erin Arvedlund, author of “Too Good to Be True” who predicts that the Wilpons will be forced to sell the Mets due to the money they have lost in the Madoff scandal.
My thoughts: While Dave Howard does an excellent job countering these accusations, I still have to ask the question, why would Erin Arvedlund make this stuff up? As I have discussed in the past, the Mets are giving signs that they are cutting costs and if they are, one would have to think the Madoff issues play a part in this.

I saw this last night. Interesting. Somehow, I don't quite believe Dave Howard since he can look at Citi Field with an unobstructed view when most of us can't (ok, a joke about him playing down the obstructions back in April, but after that, he lost all credibility to me). To be fair to him, who knows if HE knows how bad the situation is or isn't (meaning the Wilpons aren't telling everyone, just my original thought) – who knows. Time will tell.
I agree time will tell. Obviously Dave Howard is going to stick up for the Wilpons but again why would this author come out and just "make up" these things? One could argue that she is just trying to sell books but it's clear from their actions the Mets are trying to cut costs and the only reason I can think of as to why they are doing this is because of the Madoff scandal. We shall see..
Well it looks as though she was completely wrong on this. The Wilpons made 48million from Madoff
