In my opinon this is the begining of the end for the Mets. I mean like you said they are not really looking to make any key trades and this will continue untill they get a nice quality bat in there lineup. I mean as of now they are what they are, they are a under 500 ball club and it wont change unless they either get there core guys back or make a trade. I dont get what omar minaya is waiting for this team is about to just fall out of it and yet he isnt doing anything about it. I dont see the mets making it to the playoffs if they dont do something quick.

Thanks for the comments Manny. I guess the Mets thinking is, if Reyes, Delgado, Beltran don't come back, what's the sense of making a trade because a trade won't get them any players better then Reyes, Beltran or Delgado. Now I am not sure if I agree with that thinking, but I am guessing that's the only reason why they have not made any deals. Also, they may not have any players that any team want either. That would make it difficult to bring in a player. If they could trade for someone, who would you want to trade for?

I would love to get Adam Dunn from the Nationals. In my opinion he would make us better cause of his power. I would put him at first base then when we start getting our core guys back he can move to left field. It would be a perfect fit for the Mets. Now to get him I would trade a Daniel Murphy and John Niese. I think the Nats would accept that trade too. Now if Omar can at least attempt to make a trade like that it would really help us to get Dunn to New York. Bottom line is that the Mets are a team that is built to win now not the future so PLEASE OMAR HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE AND MAKE A DEAL!!! To me its the only way the Mets can just stay alive in the race cause as of now they are not going no where with that lineup Jerry is putting out there everyday. Its a Triple A lineup. We can't win a lot of games with that lineup.

I agree with you on Dunn. I will admit that I didn't want him in the off-season but that was a mistake. The Mets should have signed him then, and they do need to trade for him now. He can play the corner outfield spots and well as first and also gives them a true power hitting outfielder.

Thanks a lot for the mention of the hottest baseball wives contest. Your buddies at Fantasy Baseball Dugout really appreciate it. Quick FYI – our contest is running through August 31. We also have 12 finalists – Jordan Schneider is one of them.
