MRMet716 – It’s still early but it’s possible that only one team from the NL East will make the playoffs. The Wild Card could come out of the NL Central. I think your right about the road trip. If we can come back 5-5, I’ll be happy. I’d sign up for that right now.

Nice recap Kerel, and I have to say I’m in the one team from the NL East camp too.
It’s going to be a dog fight in the NLE this season and it may just come down to final game of the season again. I’m one of those fans that’s neither a pessimist or optimist, but a little of both. The highs and lows drive me crazy, but it was the last two seasons that transformed me from the 100% optimistic Mets fan I used to be.
It absolutely kills me when I see two wins that were there for the taking in this series, going into the loss column. It’s maddening as hell.
Still we won 8 of the last 10 so I’m not standing on any ledge or anything like that, just one agitated Mets fan right now because we could have easily had a 10 game win streak heading to the west coast.
Lets hope for the best. I’m hoping for a 7-3 swing and if they pull that off, then I would be totally pleased.

Thanks for the comments Joe D. Yes, as tight as the NL East will be this year, some of these games are going to drive us nuts and Jose Reyes mental mistakes don’t make it any easier. Your right, despite dropping 2 of 3, the bright side is we are in first place. Wow 7-3? you really think they can pull that off? I would think 6-4 at best, 5-5 more realistic. At 7-3 your asking them to win every series or sweep one team. Interesting.
With the NL East shaping up to be the worst division in the NL do you think winning the division is going to be a must to get into the playoffs? Also in my opinion this is an extremely tough road trip and I’ll be happy if we can come back to citi winning 5 out of the 10. How doable do you think this is?
