It’s been a slow week in baseball. The only topic I have to discuss is the new Citi Field Logo. Below are my thoughts:

  1. That logo you displayed is the logo for the stadium. That will not be worn on the teams unis.

    The logo is designed be the people at Citi, though the Mets do have to sign off on it.

    The logo everyone has been in a hubbub over this last week or so is the inaugural patch that the players *will* be wearing on their uniforms. It looks like that one you showed, except with “Inaugural Season” and “2009″ on it.

    The teams cannot wear an advertisement on the uniforms, per MLB rules, so it can have no mention of Citi Field on the patch for the uni.

    Still…It’s ugly. But it’s all Citi’s doings.

    Andrew – thanks for the clarification. I guess my point is that they all look the same & are all pretty ugly.
